But I learned that sometimes God will defy my assumptions—even those based in Scripture—in order to reveal a truth that lies outside that good principle. I needed to trust a Person’s heart more than a principle.

This episode is about the value of slow prayer for healing; and why the ancient Hawaiians called the Christian missionaries, “haoles.”
Cancer is a disease of isolation. Your life orbits around the “C” word, but no one else’s does. It’s your primary concern, but others understandably have their own primary concerns. Your life is no longer normal: doctor’s visits, medical scans, online searches for cures, and medical bills are the new priorities. But nothing has changed for those around you.

high-grade cancer (twice),
a stroke that shut down my brain,
a pulmonary embolism that blocked both arteries to my lungs,
septic shock that shut down my kidneys and invaded my spine.
Five close calls with death have driven me to learn everything I can about healing prayer, and God’s commitment to see us well.
Caution: Please do not take my discussions on healing prayer as permission to stop current treatment. (—Unless you have asked God and trusted friends and counselors to pray about the decision, and God is giving you the go-ahead.)
